This course provides the basis for further specific study in areas such as accounting, actuarial studies, business law, demography, economics, marketing and statistics. It is suitable for students interested in business or finance and upon completion of a degree, offers a wide range of careers across private and public sector organisations. Students specialise in their preferred area when they begin their second year studies at Macquarie University.

UNIT PREREQUISITES

*  Students who have NOT satisfactorily completed a full year 12 program (or equivalent) in Mathematics must take Mathematics BUS104, before enrolling in ECON 110, ECON 111 or MATH 130.  BUS104 is a qualifying subject and therefore does not give credit towards the Diploma or Advanced Diploma.

Please note that other prerequisites may apply from time to time.  Where applicable, students will be advised on their letter of offer.
